Project Overview
The Database for Bahawalpur Central Library located in Bahawalpur, Pakistan is designed to digitize and streamline the management of library records. Its primary goal is to facilitate easy searching and retrieval of books for general public and especially the library members, allowing them to quickly find available books and lend them out. For librarians, the database provides a comprehensive tool to track book loans, manage inventory, and oversee all related activities such as fines and reservations efficiently.
Certain functionalities remain outside the system's scope, such as integrating data from external bookstores, managing library event records, or storing personal data beyond what is necessary for library use. Additionally, member reviews or past book loan records are not included, ensuring that the system remains focused on core library management tasks.
This system provides robust support for core functionalities like creating, updating, and deleting records for books, members, and staff. Books are cataloged with essential information, including title, author, category, location, and availability status, making it easy for members to locate and reserve them. Member records capture personal details and borrowing history, and staff records track administrative roles and responsibilities, enabling streamlined workflows for library employees.
